Edith grew up in northern California during the Depression years frequently moving with her family from logging camp to logging camp. This partly explains why she enjoyed the permanence she found when she married Don and moved to their small farm on the Weiser Flat in 1951 and into town in 1966. She worked for various Weiser businesses including the Golden Eagle Grill, Stoneman´s Weiser Bakery, the Washington Hotel and for many years in the toy land department of Kings Variety Store. |
| |
She loved kids and this job let her watch many of Weiser´s youngsters grow. Edith was an active and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She had a way with fussy babies that made parents wonder what her magic was. |
| |
She loved family gatherings and the bigger the better. Edith had a fantastic memory for people, not just faces and names but where they lived, what they enjoyed and who they were related to by blood and by marriage. |
| |
People were important to her as evidenced by her many longtime friends, including her friend, Sally Bower, who attended her to the end. Edith is survived by her children, Sharon Sprague (Chuck) of Burbank, Wash.., Elva Fischer (Dennis) of Nampa, Idaho., and Don Anderson (Shelley) of Weiser; sister, Marie Street (Dale) of Dorris, Calif.; daughter-in-law, Chris Anderson of Weiser; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. |
| |
Edith was preceded in death by her mother, father, a sister, step father, George Turner, husband, Elvin Anderson and their son, Little Elvin; her husband of 44 years, Don Anderson and their son, Darrell. |
